Located in what some locals call "Delaware's Dixie," in Sussex County, Georgetown, Delaware is a quaint small town of 5,200 residents. Residents experience a small town lifestyle but are not disconnected from the booming metropolitan areas of Baltimore and Philadelphia. Residents of Georgetown enjoy mild summers, some brisk winter temperatures, and higher than average rainfall.

"The Circle" is Georgetown's center and is part of the National Historic Record. The highlight of The Center is the Greek inspired red brick courthouse that has stood since 1839. The courthouse was restored in 1976 and is now the headquarters of the Georgetown Historical Society. "The Circle's" layout is reminiscent to Annapolis, Maryland, but instead of the state house being the primary focus, Georgetown residents and visitors are able to enjoy a small park and fountain in the town's center. Georgetown is also well-known for their Return Day celebration held every two years on the Thursday following the November General Election where Georgetown hosts a parade with a reading of election tallies, and the popular "burying of the hatchet."
